The Town Common in Lunenburg is looking for assistance: This is the message from Diane Peyton
I’d like this message to reach your association members directly so perhaps it could be read or made available for them to read at your next meeting.
I’m Dianne Peyton and I represent all three groups that keep the town common usable and eventful in Lunenburg. We need help this year more than ever as we’ve lost some key volunteers and members to death, injury and relocation.
I’m also the chairman of one, the Old Home Day committee and we have some volunteer holes to fill for Old Home Day on August 6. One of those being the planning, running and manning of some kids games or activities. Our theme is “ Old McDonald had a farm” so anything farm themed like egg races or scarecrow stuffing etc…would be good but anything that can be done outside is great!
We only have one kids game so far and it’s a corn hole tournament for older kids.
If we could have your members consider contributing some time to running a game for just a portion of the day, it would be so appreciated.
We always need help setting up and taking down tables chairs and canopies as well. This job involves helping with the big tent the night before and or setting up the tables chairs and canopies around 7 am on Saturday, and tear down at 3 pm.
If anyone would like to gather a crew and a truck to help with that piece, please contact me.
Our next and last meeting before OHD is July 29 at 6 pm in the Congregational church building. Please attend if you plan to help in any way on OHD.
Thank you all for your contributions to our town.
Sincerely,
Dianne Peyton
